LEARNING ENVIRONMENT//RESTORATIVE PRACTICES

Restorative practices proactively build healthy relationships and a sense of community to both prevent and address conflict and wrongdoing.

Restorative practices represent a mindset to help guide behavior and relationship management.

Restorative practices focus on the violation of people and relationships, not on the violation of rules.

It is important to remember that behavior is a form of communication. Students engage in problematic behavior to express an unmet need or avoid a problem. Our students are communicating with us as best as they can. It is our job to teach them the skills to do so.

Below are resources to help create a classroom that uses restorative practices.
