SUPPORTING LEARNERS//SUPPORTING CLD LEARNERS
Culturally relevant teaching (CRT) is an important pedagogical theory for supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) learners.

The purposes of culturally relevant teaching (CRT) are that students experience individual and collective empowerment by developing and maintaining cultural competence, developing critical consciousness, and experiencing academic success (Ladson-Billings, 1995). As such, culturally responsive educators value their students' cultural and linguistic development.
