An important question that we as educators must have at the forefront of our minds is this, how can I ensure my teaching practices are facilitating the growth of ALL learners? Building off of the practices that go into creating an inclusive learning environment, we can ensure our practices facilitate the growth of all learners by simply having our learners in mind.

We must know who they are, where they have been, and where they dream of going.

Perhaps the most important way we can teach is to teach through our students' strengths. Their passions and interests, experiences, identities, knowledge, understandings, and skills are all their strengths.

Three pedagogical theories that help us keep our students in mind, both at an individual and collective level, are:

 Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Differentiated Instruction (DI), and Culturally Relevant Teaching (CRT)
